Hey teacher friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I am SO EXCITED to show you my LATEST creation! I'd like to introduce you to the "BUILD IT BINDER" -> A portable, brick building activity binder that can be used for organizing and storing ALL THE THINGS!
I've been wanting to make a LEGO based activity set for my son to practice literacy skills (since he loves LEGOs) and at the same time one of my font idols (Amanda from @aperfectblend) released THE COOLEST brick font called "Lego My Coffee." Couple that with the $1 Building Bricks on sale at Target and The Dollar Tree as of late, and here is my brain child.
The "BUILD IT BINDER" -> A portable, brick building activity binder that can be used for organizing and storing ALL THE THINGS! Step 1: Grab a binder! (1 inch or larger)
You can print the Binder Cover & Spines I created for FREE by clicking HERE.
Step 2: Add a Base Plate & Building Bricks
Who knew a LEGO Base Plate would fit SO perfectly! It was meant to be :) I purchased this LEGO base plate at Target for around $8 (or find it cheaper on Amazon HERE) and the building bricks are from the Target $1 spot!! They also have building bricks at The Dollar Tree for $1 and both brands are compatible with the LEGO base plate.
I attached the base place using Velcro Dots! My pencil pouch is from Walmart (I've had them forever) but you can also find them on Amazon HERE. Step 3: Insert Activities
And that's it! Making a "Build It Binder" is so easy and incredibly engaging. It takes up little space, it's super organized, and it contains ALL THE THINGS! I also love that it's a portable workspace and students can take it right to their seat or a designated spot.
You can easily store these binders on a shelf (perfect if you're limited on space). You can use them for remediation or small groups (helloooo engagement). You can also add them to your literacy centers or STEM stations.
